Vila: So that's how you became such an expert, eh?

Mare: I would say things are pretty much the same now... we were treated to several rather un-PC rants in Belgrade, but the friendliness is another story. Everyone we've met has been wonderful. Even the Montenegrins! Ha.

The Gellert is indeed a fun bath. There are other Furdö however and some of them are way more authentic. Not that it matters anymore, since now you have left Budapest. I travelled like you one time, from Budapest, past lake Balaton, towards the (the) Yugoslav border. Not only was there a stork nest on every light post (storks are extremely rare in my home country), the population got much poorer (horse carriages, and they weren't Amish) and the deeper we entered in Serbia, also more sexist and unfriendlier. It was a bit of a deception. That was many years ago, I've no idea if things changed much after the death of Tito and the succeeding wars and split up of former Yugoslavia.
